SUMMER CAMP

Summer Camp at Japanese Academy San Diego

Learn, Lead, and Create Unforgettable Summer Memories!

Looking for a summer experience where your child can strengthen their Japanese skills while making lifelong friends under the bright San Diego sun?  The Japanese Academy San Diego (JASD) offers weekly Summer Camp with a unique blend of language education, cultural immersion, and leadership development. Whether your child is just starting their Japanese journey or looking to step into a leadership role, our camp provides the perfect environment to grow. Open to the current JASD students and other students in the community. The camp is conducted in Japanese.

• Outdoor Activities: Group games and sports under the blue sky.

• Art & Creativity: Projects that spark imagination.

• Cooking: Making (and eating!) tasty treats.

• Japanese Language: Targeted lessons for different levels.

Why Join Our Summer Camp?

1. Strengthen Japanese Through Play

Don’t let those language skills fade over the summer! Our curriculum integrates Japanese study with hands-on activities, ensuring students learn “everyday Japanese” through sports, cooking, and traditional Japanese games.

2 . Leadership Opportunities for Teens

Our camp isn’t just for younger children. Middle schoolers participate in activities designed to build confidence, while High School students can join as Volunteers. This is a fantastic opportunity for teens to earn community service hours, mentor younger children, and develop essential leadership skills.

Who can participate

  • Elementary school students (Children who just completed Kindergarten to 6 graders)
  • Middle school students (7-8 graders in the community will participate in the camp activities and learn leadership skills. 50% camp fees.)
  • High school students (9-12 graders in the community will volunteer as camp leaders.)
